Hershey’s Traditional Hot Cocoa

My first try at homemade hot cocoa had to start with the recipe on my canister of Hershey cocoa.

Traditional Hot Cocoa

DSCF2806

1/2 Cup Sugar

1/4 Cup Cocoa

Dash of Salt

1/3 Cup Boiling Water

4 Cups Milk

3/4 tsp. Vanilla

  • Combine sugar, cocoa, salt, and boiling water in saucepan. Bring to boil and simmer for 2 minutes until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add milk and cook until desired temperature — do not boil.
  • Remove from heat, add vanilla, and serve.

This is a rich, chocolatey cocoa, one I would definitely make again, the perfect recipe for a first-time homemade cocoa maker, and for this I am — Simply Grateful.
